Practitioner’s Core
Practitioners are individuals certified as part of the ecclesiastical order of the church. They have taken specific classes in the New Thought-Ageless Wisdom teachings.
It is traditional in Religious Science to refer to Practitioners as “the healing arm of the church.” Their charge is to recognize the presence of Spirit in all people and all things through affirmative prayer.
Go Team – (Guidance Outreach Team)
Dedicated volunteers who provide selfless service, including preparing and delivering meals to feed the homeless, to gathering and distributing clothes and hygiene products.
Guidance Choir
The choir is the soul of Guidance. Perform at Sunday services and special events.
Usher(s)
Serving the church through hospitality, courtesy, creating a welcoming environment and setting the tone for the Sunday Service experience. Stands at the church’s entryway and greets church visitors as they arrive. Escorts individuals to their seats or direct them to empty seats in the sanctuary. It helps those who need special seating or accommodations. Collects and secures the Sunday offerings.
Guidance Men
The Purpose of the Guidance Men’s Club is bound to the life Success and Well Being of the Guidance Church. The Guidance Men sponsor fundraising events and social activities, as well as donate to the upkeep of the churches infrastructure
Guidance Women
Supports the Guidance Youth. Sponsors various Youth activities (field trips to museums, plays, movies, etc.)
Guidance Youth
Comprehensive program for youth development.
The young people at Guidance find endless outlets for expressing their true spiritual natures. With a base of positive mentorship, prayer and Science of Mind principles, young people learn to reach their ultimate potentials in creativity, goal setting, confidence, character and self-esteem building, team projects, community outreach
Hostess Club
Supports the growth of the church and fosters equanimity among visitors and church members.
Sponsors fundraiser events to those ends.
Pastoral Care
Provides compassionate support to members, congregants, and friends who are themselves—or have a loved one—experiencing illness. emotional, social and spiritual support nurturing
Chancel Care
Responsible for providing flowers and decorations in the sanctuary
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is responsible for collaborating with committees, sections, special interest groups, and membership, Board and staff liaisons on key strategies, challenges, and needs in order to provide insight on membership recruitment, engagement, and retention.
Morgan Scholarship Committee
Provides academic scholarships to qualified college students
The scholarship committee is responsible for the review of scholarship applications and coordination of planning and implementation of scholarship fund drives, soliciting donations and the selection scholarship recipients
Hospitality
Plan, organize, conduct and evaluate the foodservice operation of the church; direct the preparation of fellowship meals, special event meals, and banquets Recruit, train, and
